The Inspirations Behind Clearly Coconut's Organic, Low Sugar Brewed Coconut Water

Clearly Coconut began with a simple question: What if coconut water could be less sweet—but just as refreshing?

For co-founder Dave, the inspiration came decades ago during work trips to Southeast Asia. In Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia, he encountered coconut water at its freshest—served alongside spicy dishes, sipped in the heat of the afternoon, and always sweet, sometimes overwhelmingly so. While he appreciated its natural benefits, the lingering sweetness often made it more of a treat than a daily drink.

Years later, while experimenting with non-alcoholic brews, Dave and his team found a new way forward: a brewing process that gently extracts the coconut’s flavor without the added sugar. After testing, refining, and dreaming, Clearly Coconut was born: an organic, low sugar, low calorie coconut water brewed for clarity of flavor and everyday drinkability.
